The Preparation

Every one of our trips begins like this... at 1:00 in the morning

Memphis

Beale St. in Memphis, Tennessee. Home of the blues and barbecue.

Graceland

The home of Elvis and the mecca of portly southerners wearing souvenir sweatshirts.

Do not do this inside Graceland, you will get in trouble.

A very underlit "Jungle Room"

The BEST Ribs in the world, really...

REALLY

Catherine, Talkn' with her feet ten feet off of Beale

Texarkana

Stopped in for some Coors and a photo op in the city split by the state line.

San Antonio

The Alamo, suprisingly small but interesting and thought provoking (no basement though)

Where the soliders of the Alamo made their final stand.

Riverwalk

The main street of San Antonio and a great idea.

Buckhorn Museum

Most awsome museum I have ever been to in my life, the pictures speak for themselves.

Carlsbad Caverns

Catherine and I prepare to get to the bottom of all of those Fraggle rumors.

This is a stalagmite that has a bat inside of it. You can see it's outline lit from the back.

Santa Fe

Santa Fe's famous Burro Alley which really should have had a plaque or something explaining it because I have no idea why it's famous.

Loretto Chapel in Santa Fe, unassuming but inside...

...a staircase built by a mysterious man with no nails and orignally no railing. He disappeared after it's completion without being paid.

Santa Fe from a nearby mountian.

Sedona

Cathedral Rock just outside of Sedona AZ. It's a lot taller than it looks.

View from the top.

Antelope Canyon

Antelope Canyon is located just outside of Page, AZ. It is a slot canyon located in the middle of the desert, which gets phenomenal colors as the light trickles into the narrow opening in the morning.

The Grand Canyon

The classic National Park. I won't even try to describe it. All I have to say is see it for yourself.

We spent 3 months in Washington, D.C. and it snowed once. We're in the desert for 4 days and it snows.

Road from the Grand Canyon

We drove from Grand Canyon to Zion National park and hit a blizzard. (14 inches)

Zion was covered in snow effectly ending our hiking plans.

We pressed on through Death Valley where it rained, in the middle of the dryest, lowest point on earth, it rained.

Rain, in the desert.

Las Vegas

The one and only picture we have of Las Vegas. Catherine lost $40.00 and didn't even take the free drinks. We all lost.

San Francisco

Our trip took us to to San Francisco where Catherine wore flowers in her hair and I used a small amount of gel, just to keep it from frizzing.

Alcatraz

Felt like home.

A mock-up of the cell of the only known escapee from alcatraz. If you ask me, he doesn't look anything like Dirty Harry.

The Haight-Ashbury district of San Francisco. Hippies everywhere and most of them were probably not quite sure which war their protesting.

I expanded my mind with some mind-altering substances.

Pez Museum

Yes! The world's only PEZ museum, thousands of different PEZ despensers including...

...the most rare dispenser in the world. It's basically a Mr. Potatohead on the end of a dispenser. Somebody thought that putting a face with small removeable pieces on the end of a candy dispenser would be a bad idea and took it off the market.

Wine Country California

We hit several wineries in the Sanoma Valley and drank some excellent wine. A beautiful area of the country.

Muir Woods

Named for John Muir, early conservationist and beard advocate, this is a stand of Giant Sequoia is just north of San Francisco, huge trees and beautiful forests.

Monterey

The world famous Monterey Aquarium. There would be more photos but I was distracted by the little fishes.

St. Patrick's Day

California Hwy 101

The Pacific Ocean

This is the closest I will ever get to playing at Pebble Beach.
